Fiesta del Sol began as a 1973 block party celebrating the opening of Benito Juarez High School and is now run by the nonprofit Pilsen Neighbors Community Council. It closes down Cermak Road for four days of stages, rides and community resource fairs each summer. Organizers bill it as the largest Latino festival of its kind in the country.
