A free, all day costumed street party tradition in Pease Park, organized by unpaid volunteers under the nonprofit Friends of the Forest Foundation since 1963. It began as a University of Texas student picnic and now draws thousands of attendees in costume for drum circles, a maypole and a live donkey.
