This gathering of the Death Valley '49ers, a nonprofit founded in 1949, commemorates the pioneer wagon trains that crossed Death Valley. The four-day encampment includes live music, geology and history talks, stargazing, and a veterans' tribute, moving between park locations each year. The 2026 encampment is held at Stovepipe Wells to mark that outpost's 100th anniversary.
