Stoughton's Coffee Break Festival marks the town's claim as the birthplace of the American coffee break, a tradition traced to the 1880s among local Norwegian tobacco warehouse workers. The free, rain-or-shine event runs 8am to 2pm on the third Saturday of August at Racetrack Park with a coffee brew-off, an all-wheels car and cycle show, an arts and crafts fair, and food vendors. It is organized by the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce.
