The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association of New England has run the Chinatown August Moon Festival since the 1970s, filling Phillips Square and the surrounding streets with lion dancing, Chinese opera, and food vendors. The festival draws on the Mid Autumn tradition of family gathering and harvest thanks. It is Boston Chinatown's largest annual street festival.
