CHIditarod sends teams of costumed racers pulling decorated shopping carts through Chicago's Ukrainian Village and West Town neighborhoods each March, collecting food and cash donations for hunger relief nonprofits along the way. Inspired by the Alaskan Iditarod and New York's Idiotarod, it began in 2006 and has raised more than a million dollars in donations since. The exact 2027 date had not yet been announced as of this writing.
