Dragon boat teams race on Lake Norman at Ramsey Creek Park alongside a one-day festival of Asian food, dance, and craft vendors, organized by AsiaCarolinas. The event began in 2000 at a park in uptown Charlotte and moved to its current lakefront site in 2006 to accommodate the boat races. It celebrates the Charlotte region's Asian American and Pacific Islander communities each May.
