Catoctin Colorfest turns the whole town of Thurmont into an arts and crafts show every second weekend of October, with hundreds of vendors spread across the community park, ballfields and church lots. It began in 1963 and has grown into one of the largest juried craft festivals on the East Coast. The festival times its dates to peak fall foliage on Catoctin Mountain.
