For the entire month of October, more than 200 handmade scarecrows built by local residents and businesses line the streets of Cambria and neighboring San Simeon. Now in its third decade, it is a self-organised community tradition rather than a ticketed festival, with a self-guided map for visitors. It has become one of the Central Coast's best-known small-town Halloween traditions.
