Avalon closes out its summer season with a Seafood Festival at Surfside Park, serving local catch alongside live music, artisan vendors and beach hayrides. The Avalon Department of Recreation runs the event on a Saturday in early October, with a rain date built in for the following day. It marks one of the last big gatherings on this stretch of the barrier island before the off season.
