The Texas Panhandle's biggest fair draws visitors from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado each September for a PRCA rodeo, a midway, and livestock competitions at the Tri-State Fairgrounds. It has run continuously since 1923, making it one of the longest running fairs in the state. The name reflects the tri-state trade area Amarillo has long served.
